Running a class at the gym? Starting a career as a personal trainer? Here are some of the best exercises for small to mid-sized groups. If these don't get your collective blood pumping, nothing will!
1: Strength Building
Perfect for beginners, strength building focuses on things like squats, lunges and push-ups to build muscle and boost endurance. While some of your newbies might be shy, they'll also be more willing to stick with it when surrounded by their peers and working towards a common goal.
2: Suspension Training
These tools will require some room to move, so make sure everyone can stretch their arms all the way out before beginning. Once you've established the necessary space, you can take suspension training in any way you'd like.
3: Circuits
While not an activity in its own right, establishing a circuit can greatly improve the efficacy of group exercise. It will keep everyone moving, which in turn will maintain an elevated heart rate, and no one will grow fatigued with one particular piece of equipment since they're constantly switching.
4: Cycling
Cycling is an excellent activity for groups. Not only will their individual bikes keep everyone out of each other's way, but neighbors can also provide a sense of community and encouragement to those who are struggling to complete the program.
These are just a few ways to get moving in a group. There are many more, of course, but these should be enough to get you started while you train for your NCCA certification. Click here to learn more about getting fit and creating your own choreography!
